Local Access!

for America Online ® Compuserve ® and Delphi ®

You can now access Delphi, America Online and Compuserve by dialing through MCM Systems. To access each service you will need the latest version of the software for each. For America Online you need version 2.5 or later, and for Compuserve you need Compuserve Information Manager v. 1.4 or later.

You must, of course, have an existing account with each service or be willing to establish a new account. By connecting through MCM Systems you will be able to bypass long distance charges and low modem speed restrictions, but you must be a paying customer of each respective company.

Delphi is simple currently as it is basically text based. Just use telnet from a shell or graphic account by: telnet delphi.com and then log in as normal except much faster and local call.

To connect through AOL, you need to choose TCP/IP as the NETWORK under the SETUP button.

In CIM, you need to choose WINSOCK as the connector. Then dial in using winsock, launch CIM, and click CONNECT. Then you'll log into Compuserve from over the Internet!

The general procedure is to dial-up your ISP (mcmsys.com) the way you normally do for internet BUT instead of starting your web browser you start the AOL or Compuserve software instead.
